Congratulations to Léa Sta who won the Contributed Talk Award at the Virtual 13th Conference on Dynamical Systems Applied to Biology and Natural Sciences (DSABNS). This was for her talk on “Control of IL-7 responsiveness through IL-7R subunits balance in effector T cells and analytic expressions for amplitude and EC50”. The international conference took place…
Carlos Olivares, Thierry Mora and Aleksandra Walczak at ENS recently gave an online tutorial on Pygor and the recording is now available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qa2TJWudYbs The tutorial presents Pygor, a python tool based on IGoR to infer, visualize, modify, and use models of VDJ recombination for immune repertoires.
The recent British Society for Immunology Congress took place in Edinburgh, UK, from 28 November to 1 December 2021, and was represented by QuanTII members as follows: Plenary speaker – Dietmar Zehn; Invited speaker – Becca Asquith; Poster presentations – Giulia Belluccini, Charandeep Kaur, Daniel Luque Duque, Laura Mora Bitria, and Léa Sta. This successful workshop took place from 18-19 November 2021 at DKFZ, Heidelberg. The ESRs were able to meet in-person for the first time since the pandemic started. The ESRs gave presentations on their research, and there were also scientific talks by Melania Barile and Kevin Thurley, as well as a workshop on PharmaSimulation that was…
In the last year, 5 ESRs have been co-authors on articles that have been published in Cancer Immunology, Immunotherapy; Cell Stem Cell; CPT: Pharmacometrics + Systems Pharmacology; Frontiers in Bioinformatics; and Viruses. See the Publications webpage for more details. We look forward to seeing more publications on the research of the ESRs in the future!
Elena de Dios Panal and Léa Sta have each presented a poster at the virtual 6th European Congress of Immunology that took place from 1-4 September 2021. Their abstracts can be found in the book of abstracts at: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/eji.202170200
Congratulations to Léa Sta who received the UCR Contributed Talk Award for Methods for Biological Modeling at the Society for Mathematical Biology Annual Meeting, organised by the University of California, Riverside, held on 13-17 June 2021.  This was for her talk on “IL-7R mathematical modelling: algebraic expressions for amplitude and EC50”.
Four ESRs, Léa Sta, Flavia Feliciangeli, Giulia Belluccini, and Daniel Luque Duque, will give separate contributed talks at the virtual Society for Mathematical Biology 2021 meeting which will be held from 13-17 June 2021. Click on the image for more details of their talks.
Further online training has been delivered through the QuanTII network. Two network webinars have been given by Ken Duffy (November 2020) and Thomas Höfer (January 2021), where the speakers discussed the research they are currently working on. Training webinars have also been given on the following topics: The human cell atlas, and T-cell development by…
At the beginning of March, the EU approved a 12-month extension of the project – it will now finish in August 2023. The extension was requested because of the disruption caused by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic to QuanTII ESRs, their research groups and academic institutions. The extension will allow all QuanTII ESRs more time to carry…
