Title: "T-Cell development – one cell at a time"

The Human Cell Atlas project is catalysed by technologies that are rapidly evolving to support the mapping of human tissues. A specific tissue at the centre of adaptive immunity is the thymus, and dissecting immune responses by next generation sequencing methods at single cell resolution provides novel insights into cell states, including antigen receptor diversity, cell-cell interactions in tissues, and how cellular phenotypes change during development. Here I will present recent insights into the development of the thymus as an organ, the repertoires of naïve T cells, and interspecies conservation of this immune organ.
